Trust the shepherd

Image
EN  English ( FR IT PT SP ) Trust the Shepherd In the Middle East shepherds typically lead  their sheep. In England, our shepherds stay at the back and force their sheep forward using dogs.  Jesus tells us that He is the Good Shepherd, and that His sheep know His voice ( John 10:4 ) It should be obvious that shepherds have more wisdom, knowledge and experience than sheep.  So we follow Him. We don’t have to plan the route; or offer suggestions how to get there better/faster. We don’t get to question why He goes this way, or seems to go slowly. We just have to trust that He is the Shepherd; and that He is good . His aim is that we experience life in all its fulness ( John 10:10 ). I can't improve on this! This video spoke to me so powerfully this morning that I felt compelled simply to link to it with no further comment. What to expect when Jesus returns   How to be ready for the rapture   Can we know the timing of the End Times? Choices for salvation

Image
EN  English ( FR IT PT SP ) Two types of salvation It's your choice:  Either accept the free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ Or try to earn it for yourself Choose either Revelation 5:9 or 7:14 We either get washed in the blood of Christ; or we have to wash ourselves As I write this at the beginning of October 2025 we are living almost 2,000 years since Jesus Christ walked the earth; and it seems that we're almost at the end of this, what's called 'the Church Age' - the period of time between Pentecost ( Acts 2 ) and the rapture of those who have been washed in the blood of Christ.  What is it to be 'washed in the blood of Christ'? During this church age, sometimes called 'the age of grace', we can be reconciled to God very simply, instantly, and at no cost (except perhaps to our pride, as we have first to admit our need for forgiveness).  We recognise that we (all) have fallen short of God...

Resurrection

Image
EN  English ( FR IT PT SP ) Did Jesus rise from the dead? If Jesus didn't rise from the dead then all of our writing and preaching is useless. And so is your faith. You are still guilty of your sins. We are to be pitied more than anyone in the world. ( 1 Corinthians 15:14-19 ) But Jesus was raised from the dead, the first of a great harvest of all who have died! How can we know it? Well, we can't really know anything about the past, or even the present: we can just assemble a lot of evidence to persuade us. (Biologically, you know I must have had two grandfathers; but I can't prove to you beyond any doubt who they were!) The main historical records Matthew 28:1-20 Mark 16:1-20 Luke 24:1-53 John 20:1-21:25 Acts 1:1-11 The disciples changed They went from being a group of men who were frightened and hiding, to being courageous witnesses who spoke constantly throughout the world of what they'd seen. And they died for their be...
